    David Salisbury is currently Head of Data and Technology for National Grid plc.

    David holds a first class honours degree in Mechanical Engineering and is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of both the Institution of Gas Engineers and Managers and the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. 

    David has held a number of positions within National Grid and its predecessors Transco and British Gas, most recently Head of Process accountable for the Operation and Maintenance of National Grid’s UK Gas Distribution Networks and prior to that managing the Distribution National Control Centre and leading a programme to separate control centres following National Grid’s sale of 4 Gas Distribution Networks in 2005.  In 2009 David was awarded the UK Gas Industry ‘Skills for Business’ Award for work on that programme.  In 1998 David set up a managed the Gas Industry National Training Organisation in the UK, an organisation which has grown to represent the skills needs of the entire Utility sector in the UK and is now known as “Energy and Utility Skills”.  David has formerly been involved in developing European Standards for gas supply systems through CEN TC234 and is currently a member of the executive Board of Marcogaz and President of GERG.
